ABOUT EERS

The Eastern Evaluation Research Society (EERS) is the oldest professional society for program evaluators in the United States. Founded in 1978, EERS remains a vibrant contributor to program evaluation practice and theory. As a local affiliate of the American Evaluation Association (AEA), the purpose of EERS is to promote key goals of the profession in our region.

1. Growth of the evaluation profession through information sharing and educational activities
2. Use of innovative and appropriate evaluation methodologies
3. High quality evaluation through fostering research, developing and improving professional competencies, and disseminating and utilizing results.

EERS Annual Conference

Since 1979, EERS has convened an annual conference for evaluation professionals in the mid-Atlantic region. The conference's reputation as the best small conference for evaluators annually attracted participants from across the east coast. The addition of the Eleanor Chelimsky Forum in 2013 through 2017 exemplified the innovation and quality of the conference. Starting in 2021, the EERS annual conference moved online, broadening participation worldwide while maintaining its value as a networking opportunity. Any individual interested in the purposes of EERS is welcome to participate by proposing a presentation, contributing as a sponsor, or attending this conference. Learn about the next EERS conference

EERS is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the President, the President-Elect, the immediate Past-President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and a minimum of six Board Members at Large. Meet our current board and review our by-laws. In addition to joining the Board, we welcome volunteers and sponsors to support EERS activities. Contact us to see how you can get involved!
